I didn't see any marks in your photos other than the 1.N.4 on the rear of the frame. If this is the mark that you are referring to? Then no, it's not a unit mark. Possibly a Police or some other unit's rack number, I.D. number or inventory number.

I don't know of , nor can I find any plausible translation for this mark.
