Well, it sounds like you can either try to sell it for lesser value in Canada or take the hit when you have to import it by the import stamp. Either way these two options are gonna slice your value. Might try and think of some other way (not illegal or anything like that, that is).
I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but maybe find an area on the gun that can be replaced easily by an aftermarket part or a part that is not numbered to the gun. Have that area stamped with the import mark and then once in the States the new owner can replace that area or part with the original. I don't know if this is legal or not or even feasible so be sure before doing anything like that. Just trying to help, but really make sure that would be an okay thing to do first before trying.
