Still confused; the piece I have is definitely a seperate part, it can be moved within the front of the slide. The profile seem a match for later guns.
Can anyone help clarify this ? Possibly this is a repair ? Maybe the front of the slide was damaged and someone made a bushing to fit and staked it in place with the front sight.
I'll try to get pictures to post as I'm now much distressed !
