The pistol was reblued when I bought it. The left hand side appeared to have been ground on with a Dremel tool to remove some kind of marking. I was told the GI's info. Didnt make lots of sense with the paperwork still attached but I bit anyway. Since it had already been reblued I decided to draw file the grinding down to clean it up and the reblue it. As I started draw filing the writing started to appear. It looks as if it were done with an electro pencil as it has changed the composition of the metal and is harder than the surrounding material. It was papered in Bad Toelz ,Germany.
