I could be wrong, but as I recall, the MMC sight was a standard model for the 1911 and was dovetailed into the rear toggle link at a point where it would not interfere with toggle operation.<br />

Unless you are working on a parts gun, I would find/buy a spare rear toggle ( I think there are a couple on Auction Arms or eBay at the moment) and use it for your project.<br />
