Default Yet Another Movie Luger 2

"The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (2003)

In an alternate-universe year 1899 all the Victorian literary fiction characters are real, and a heroic group of them including Allen Quartermain, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll&Mr. Hyde, and Tom Sawyer bands together to stop a mysterious "Fantom" from developing his advanced technological weapons, which he intends to sell to both sides in the coming war.

In a revealing scene Dorian Grey pulls out his delicate, long-barrelled, gold-plated Luger to dispatch the first mate (call me Ishmael!) of Captain Nemo's "Nautilus".

It is a fully-functioning prop, including toggle action.

It is sufficiently authentic that the shooting clearly ends with a stovepiped cartridge case. Not what they wanted, I'm sure, but the acting must have been -so- good that they didn't want to do another take...
