Default Sounds to me like a sloppy fit of the barrel extension

in the grip frame. You can Get it checked by a gunsmith, but as long as it is deemed safe to shoot and groups as you describe, I am not sure I would do anything about it. A sixteenth sounds like a lot... are you talking about the fit of the barrel extension in the frame? or movement at the end of the barrel?


If you field strip the upper and slide it into the frame is there play at both front and rear or just at the front?


If the gun is still under warranty, You could check with Aimco about it's condition... They may correct their work for free.
