8 out of fifty is not too bad considering the age of the weapon and its finicky nature in the first place. I got a shooter a few months back and had the same problem. I got a spring kit and replaced the springs in the gun. This along with the aftermarket magazine I got with the gun, helped out a great deal. I have two other authentic mags I tried, but it does not seem to like them as much. I suspect that the aftermarket magazine being newer has stronger springs as well. I may get a spring kit for my other mags and see if that makes them usable as well. I get my stuff from Wolff (
http://www.gunsprings.com ). A service kit for the Luger runs 10-16 dollars. As for ammo, I am not sure which works best. I used the S&W 115g and 125g. I don't believe alot of people have good results with the S&W in their Lugers. For me it seems to work fine, now that I've done the other work with the springs and such.
