Hello:
I've been scouring your excellent and informative sight for awhile and have learned basically what kind of Luger I've inherited. Now I was wondering as to it's value.
It's a 1913 ERFURT 48XX Millitary Proofs and Imperial Eagle with all matching #'s except the magazine. The bore looks to be VG-EXC.The finish is 85-90%? it's slightly worn on the barrel tip and the shoulders of the frame from holster wear.It was kept in a P38 holster for 60-70 years by my great uncle who's oldest brother brought it back from WWI.There is a # on the front grip strap 163.R.11.3. Also there is a tiny chip missing in the grip right behind the safety lever. It had 4 or 5 rounds shot thru it every year on the 4th of July untill about 8 years ago when he passed. It sat in a box of clothes at my sisters house untill she was about to give them to the Salvation Army and asked if I wanted any of Uncle Wilson's things.I almost said no,but I was feeling a bit nostalgic and thought what the heck.We all thought that worthless grandson of his had pawned it for drug money.Of course it's value to me is far more than monitary but I would like to find out it's worth.Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.I'll try and post a couple of pictures of it but be warned they're not real good pictures.(excuse the arm)
Thanks alot
Mike C.
