Shown here are the measurements for the taller Navy type front sight base on a six inch barrel. All measurements are in inches, not millimeters. Measurements were taken from an actual Navy Luger barrel and examination of a Navy Luger blueprint that is not available to the general public that was generously lent to me some time ago by a forum member.
The height of the front sight base should be .170 inches from the barrel band, or 0.470 from the center of the bore. The front sight itself should be standard as far as I know. To use a standard front sight base barrel with a reproduction Navy rear toggle, you would have to increase the front sight blade height by at least .0170 inches.
For those that want a copy of the 1913 P.08 Standard configuration blueprints... please see my posting at the top of the For Sale forum for the Blueprints CD... This is excellent study information and will enlighten you on the construction and engineering of the Luger pistol.
