Hi Bob, I'm thinkin' that your unit mark translates to:

Grenzpolizei Osterreich ( Border Police Eastreach/ Eastern Realm) or Eastern Border Patrol. I have a 1914 Mauser with a Grenzpolizei marking. Got photos??
