1920 / 1911 double date DWM Police Markings
I picked up a Double date 1920/1911 DWM ser #74xxd. The gun has a sear safety and no mag safety.
The front grip strap is marked "K.Lj. 17." Can anyone tell me which unit or city is has that type of marking, or any place I can research it. thank you, Jim |
To hazard a guess - that should be Koeslin Landjaegerei Weapon 17 - maybe someone else has a better idea?

Thank you for your help...."Koeslin Landjaegerei" could you tell a southern Florida boy where that is please!....Thanks again, Jim |
Hi Jim,
K¶slin, (Koeslin), is now called Koszalin and is in the part of Poland that used to be in German Pomerania before the end of WW2. I've attached a pre-war map to show where it is. On the map it's in the dark shaded area. Roughly speaking it's on the Baltic coast not far from Gdansk, (Danzig as was). The Landjaegerei was a police formation - rural as far as I know - but there are people who post here that know a lot more about this than me. Any chance of some photos of your Luger - especially the unit marking? Cheers, John http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Landka1.jpg |
