Imperial German regimental markings
 

I've used this site to decode the bands of a couple of my 1888 Kommission Gewehrs. Lotsa good info www.cruffler.com/trivia-December99.html . I have an 1891 Loewe Gew 88/05 that has an upper band marked "35.R(italic).9.31" and a lower band marked "58.R.R.208" and an 1893 Spandau/1935 Turk Gew 88/05/35 wih an upper band marked "8.B(italic).2.186" - anyone got any other weapons from these two units ?
