Bulk 9mm ammo
 

Is there any particular brand/loading for the 9mm, that is both reliable and accurate? I don't wish to reload.

Walmart 115g fmj, $11.00 per 100. Some folks prefer the same in 124g though.

And since you can buy on-line (some sites require drivers license as proof of age ahead of time), I have bought of a case of "Olympic" 9mm, for approx., $120 / 1000 including shipping.

Otherwise, have bought wally world ammo on many occassions and it shoots well.

Ditto on Wally World. Avoid Russian steel case ammo (Wolf). It can be bad news.

Sellier&Bellot (S&B), 115 fmj is good.

Since this question gets asked quite a lot,
a thought for our (excellent) site managers: What about a list of 'tried & tested' ammo suppliers somewhere on the forum?

For completeness I will add CCI Blazer FMJ 115gr. Federal American Eagle works reliably as well, but is considerably more expensive than the Winchester (Walmart), S&B, and CCI.

Here in East TN, Winchester 9mm 115gr. FMJ are $5.97 for a box of 50. CCI Blazer 9mm 115 FMJ- $5.97, the Blazers have an alloy case and cant be reloaded (but if you dont want to reload thats fine.) Both rounds shoot well in all the 9mm guns I have fired. I have tried one box of S&B and found them to be unreliable to say the least. I might have gotten a bad batch as they were not strong enough to work the action in any of the guns I had available at the time and left a terrible amount of unburned powder and lead shavings in the guns. I figure it was a bad box, but felt it was worth mentioning. Walmart here no longer carries it, but the Brass jacketed soft point Winchester Win-clean rounds worked flawlessly with little to no residue left over in the barrel. They were top-notch in accuracy too! I watched the price rise to about $14 a box (50 rounds) before they stopped selling them here. Must've been the wrong type or a bad batch you had. The brass-tipped 115gr FMJ S&B work without at hitch in my 1906-pattern. No problems with lead shavings or unburned powder. Feeding is good, although they don't like my MecGar mag :)

Sadly, the Winchesters are difficult to obtain here (and strangely they are more expensive...)

The best commercial ammo I have shot to date is the 123 Grain, Truncated Cone, "Combat" loading from Fiocchi (looks identical to the original DWM loading).

Go to the "Cheaper Than Dirt" website and look under pistol ammo. They sell for $5.67 per box.

These were highly accurate and gave perfect function in both my 1917 DWM and my 1941 Mauser.

Try it, you'll like it!!!
