Help with First War 9mm ammunition please
 

I am attempting to trade this ammunition for a K98 part, but I would like the experts' opinions here on what I have. All heads are marked and dated., all dates between 1912-1918. Nine are dated S 6 17, four dated Ge 1 18 D, two dated Ge 12 17 D, and the last one DWM 12 K 8 (with flat head). Should all rounds match the manufacturing date on the box as in WW2 9mm? Is the blunt flat head cartridge correct for the DWM? Any idea of what value these may have? And finally, are these even German rounds? Thanks very much, hope the pics help.

Although I am not an expert with military ammunition, typically all the ammunition in a full box/packet should have the same date as the label. In the case of your ammunition, collectors would prefer to have the headstamp with 'DWM' and cone shaped bullets.

Maybe another member on this forum could provide answers and specific details to the rest of your questions.

The blunt flat-head is correct. These were the first design, later replaced by the round nose version because of feeding problems in the Trommelmagazin with flat nose rounds.

So the box has 4 original cartrigdes in it, the rest dates from WWI, but was added to the box later, not originally.

They are all german rounds. No idea of the value, though. I paid about 3 USD for a single unfired 1917 DWM cartridge last year.

I have paid as much as $100 for an unopened box this past year.

Please note that the references for the residence of G. Egerstorff differ, both Harz and Hannover are mentioned. Dunno if the town changed names :)
