Lugers CAN shoot !!
Hello,
A nice morning at the range with a friend & some favorite pistols....I always wanted to see what a Luger could do at 100 yds. I brought my 5 in 30 Cal Shooter and did this target with the help of sandbags. 3 shot group at 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards !! Total 5 shot group in 4 1/4 in....So much for those who say that Lugers cant shoot !! :D Ammo used is a 90 gr XTP backed by 7.3 gr Blue Dot with standard primers in Win new brass. Yes it was shooting 10 inch low & 4 inch to the right.....Standard sights..... Incredible performance in my book !! :) I have rarely seen a handgun capable of such !! :D Cheers !! MARK :D http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/dscn2857.jpg |
Hi:
You need to tighten up that group a bit. With some handloads and a little practice, you should shoot under one inch. Sieger |
geez, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I'm having a good day if I can get twenty rounds into eight to ten inches. Of course that's in windy weather (as if we had anything else here). Wonder what it'd be like at an actual firing range...

Sieger, are you saying he can get under 1" at 100 yards with the Lugers open sights??? He does that, and we should put him on tour, or enter him professionally in some matches!!!

Hello,
Sieger: Under 1 inch @ 100 yds with a pistol !! Show me this gun !! Photos requested :D Best rifles I had/ have are giving one hole groups at 100 yds. I do not expect to get sub MOA accuracy with a pistol at rifle distances......I an already quite astonished by this 1 1/2 in group :D Waschbaer, Wind was minimal, steady rest on sandbags....Difficult part was an innapropriate target....I'll work on something to be able to have a good picture & precise sight alingment on everyshot..... Johnny C. K., I'll take the challenge of sub 1 inch groups :D .....should be at the range again within a week..... I'll keep everyone posted..... Over the years, I've outshot quite a few modern scoped rifles, at 75 to 100, yards with my 9mm. It blows their minds every time. Sieger |
