Need a little help
What's the trick to popping out primers without busting the primer decapper rod? I'm careful with the spacing so it doesn't go too deep. I've broken two of them. Why are some primers so hard? How can you tell when too much is too much before the little snap sound? Thanks.

I broke several when I was first starting out. it is the case of the round that is catching the rod and it doesn't pop out, so the rod breaks.
I had to make sure that the cartridge was centered correctly and then I didn't have any problems. |
Make sure you dont have any BERNAdand (spelling) primers (two flash holes) Those will bust one everytime

Make sure that your decaping rod is very tight. this is the center rod that goes through the die, also make sure that the pin is very tight. Also if reloading with carbon steel dies lube both the inside and outside of the case.

Good info. I'm starting to see the value in getting quality brass and sticking to it. Its just aggravating. The die I'm using (or was using) has the resizer and the decapper together. Thanks.
