Fires after cocking
Can somebody help me out ? I am a newbe to lugers, got a mismatched 4 inch on a trade. It is great! But,It shoots as soon as I **** it. It acts like a open bolt gun. What am I missing here? Let me know what other info you guys need from me. Thanks alot, by the way. excellent forum, for an excellent gun. Thanks Ron

Stuck firing pin? Dismantle the firing pin assembly and clean/oil it thoroughly. If this doesn't work, someone with more knowledge will have to chime in.

That is what I am thinking. Clean that pistol. Ron, If this doesn't stop it from doing that, and it probably will, take it to an old gunshop or one touted here on the forum.

Thanks for the input! I will do that tomorrow . Thanks alot, Ron

Hi Ron,
The small extention on the side of the firing pin should hook behind the sear bar (bar on the left side, partially behind the sideplate) after cocking. The trigger pull will push the sear bar inwards at the front, thus outwards at the back, where the firing pin hook is released and the pistol fires. The sear bar is held in place by a small flat leafspring. |
