Luger Mechanics-Thanks to Tom Heller

Just fitted a sideplate to a Luger that "didnt have one" This gun was missing the sideplate, trigger, take down lever. So it will be a mismatched shooter but BOY....do I ever have respect for Mr Tom Heller and his expertise with these pistols. I try to remember EVERYTHING he tells me or I read from him on postings. It simply amazes me how the trigger lever function is governed by the disconnector spring, the sear spring, the trigger spring and the fit with which all these parts, and other ones like the sideplate, sear bar, etc go together. IT aint for amateurs! Thanks for Toms parts and instructions on how to get this little project up and running! WHEW....that was fun, but the final result was. Thanks TOM!!!!

Ted, Thanks for the above comment. Even after changing a few hundred side plates, sears, FPs, etc. I find that there is still a lot of trial and error with lugers. But eventually, you get faster at it. Tom H.

Hi, Thor,

Now you know why folks like Tom groan when some guy brings in a Luger and says, "Can you give me a one pound trigger pull with no slack and no overtravel?"

Jim
