Trigger Adjustments...
In this month's NAPCA newsletter, AutoMag, there is a bit of a write up about some limited-production, target lugers the Mauser folks made/sold in the 1970's. A photo in AutoMag shows two set-screws drilled/tapped into the top posterior suface of the trigger (i.e. portions of the trigger assembly that interact with the trigger lever/bar of the side plate).
I am tempted to post that photo, here, but worry about the NAPCA copyright...being a NAPCA member and all... Have folks seen this trigger adjustment modficiation, before ? Does it work well ? Thinking I might try such on one of my shooters with a new replacement trigger for the "experiment"... Regards, Pete... |
An article on trigger adjustment, to include the two set-screw modification, was written by Mike Gorman and appeared in the May 1974 issue of Shooting Times.

Pete,
I seem to remember that someone (perhaps Hugh Clark) posted photos showing that trigger modification to limit travel... perhaps a search of both the old and current forums would prove fruitful... |
Hello Ron,
Is there a chance that you might have the article handy...to mail to me or scan/email to me...? If yes and you need my address, again, let me know and I will email you my home address... Appreciate your help... Pete... |
Pete,
It is on the way (3 separate emails - files are large). Have fun. Ron |
Hello Ron,
Thanks so much for the emailed info. If you will be at Tulsa in April 2004, a steak dinner is on me ! If you do not mind, may I post this info. in the Member's Gallery...so it is there for others' future use and read...??? Regards, Pete... |
As long as it doesn't violate any copyright laws, feel free.
|
I am not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV, but I don't think the copyright laws extend for as long as 30 years...
Does anyone know for sure? |
Seems that someone has to do something to keep the copyright going. I see that the song "Happy Birthday" has a copyright on it and someone gets paid when it gets used commercially. If they don't keep the copyright uptodate then it falls into the public domain, not sure how long that takes...

Does anyone know and have a published reference for us?
|
|
I have emailed the Shooting Times folks...thanks, Gerben...for the suggestion.
When I hear back from them, I will report... Regards, Pete... |
This may answer your question on how long it might take. Looks like we all may not care by then...
