Never ignore the $2.00 sale bin at your local junk shop. http://www.hunt101.com/img/168508.jpg

Jerry, If you aren't doing anything this summer, this needs a little of your magic. http://www.hunt101.com/img/168516-big.jpg

I wouldn't put anything but a shooter class Luger in that holster since it uses a metal springloaded release that engages the trigger guard... Even if made of brass, it WILL scratch the trigger guard over time.

Audley made these "safety" holsters for guns in addition to the luger.

I am not sure Glen's holster is for a luger...bottom of the holster is quite different than others I have seen...

Here is one for sale on the Simpson LTD web site :

I found an Audley at Reno. Thought it was a Luger holster. Turned out to be for a Colt Woodsman. Fortunately I know a Woodsman Collector, and offloaded.

I think the value of the Audley holster is drastically over rated when applied to it's particular contribution to any one gun design. It was made for a wide variety of weapons. When one pulls it out of the context of modern holster development and associates it to Colt 1911 or Luger or Peacemaker lore, the earge to overpay suddenly appears. When related to the history of any particular sidearm it really is simply a vintage curiosity.

All that having been said, if you collect Lugers AND early Colt automatics, it's fun to add one of these to your collection

Trigger643, No, I'm not doing anything...according to my Wife!

It looks like the holster is unstitched at the toe in one photo but I can't tell....I have worked on a half dozen Audley's, they are an interesting holster.

Like John says ,the spring loaded catch will mar the triggerguard. Let me know if you need some help with it. Jerry Burney

Jerry, Ellie told me there's a motivation problem. I,m sending her my wife's #14 iron skillet. Thought it might help, and I need some relief!!

We no longer have those heavy iron skillets at our house... I replaced them all with a modern "light" and easy to handle set of non-stick cookware... But lack of a cast iron skillet is no obstacle... as I amsure most of you will agree, most wives can stir tidal waves of 'motivation' with just their eyes!... The trick is to try an avoid looking them directly in the eyes and pretending we didn't hear what they say... :D ...at least that is the case since all the cast iron skillets are no longer with us :D :D :D

John, A guy dies and goes to heaven. He is directed into a large waiting room. On the far side of the room are two doors. One door has a sign that reads "Hen pecked husbands". Lined up at the door he sees about 500 men, waiting. The other door has a sign that reads "Macho head of household". At this door is one little wimpy looking fellow. He approachs the little guy and says, "Excuse me, but you don't seem to be the type to be waiting at this door. Why are you waiting here?" The little guy, in a halting voice replies" My wife told me to". <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
