Possible to repair?
 

Hello.

I just recently came a cross acouple of 08 holsters. One was a very nice Eagle/M marked and the other a police style black one. The latter is unfortunatly destroyed because the old owner had cut away the flap. How ever, I still have the flap and my question is if this could be repaired, and if so, what kind of cost to expect.

I just came back from a "skomaker" with a holster, the wommen who worked there had problems stitching it by hand due to the thickness of the lether and small space inside. So she did it with a machine on a different place than the original stitching. The result was realy bad:( And not worth the 100kr. I recomend giving the job to someone profesional.

Thank you for your reply. What I'm interested in is a pro job. The holster have some sentimental value to me, and I would be prepared to spend some money on it if there is a chance for a nice result. So although I'm (too) am in Norway I will consider to send it to the US if someone can fix it there.

lugerholsterrepair does it by hand. The problem with anyone besides an expert, is that they simply want it "fixed" and not fixed right!

Jerry, aka lugerholsterrepair can do it and you will be hard pressed to know it was fixed! :)

Thanks ED...I just emailed Karl and talked with him about this repair. Just for the members information I will display that Email below..

Karl, On these WW2 style holsters the Germans used part of the back of the
holster to make the hinge.

It can be repaired but only one way. It would be necessary to add a hinge
similar to WW1 holsters. They had a hinge that was seperate.

It would be impossible to put the broken leather back together.

It would change the style of your holster and it would never be what it was.

To add a hinge using linen thread and German style repair techniques would
run $65.00 plus shipping back to Norway.
