Imperial Navy Marking?
Does anyone know if this could be an early German Imperial Navy marking - I'm thinking KM for Kriegsmarine. Perhaps it's Dutch? Any help would be appreciated.

John, The crown in your photo, appears more Swedish to me than German, but I'm not ruling out the Dutch possibility. Tom H.

JohnF,
If I were you, I would make a short post in the Navy Luger forum referring that group to read this thread... there would likely be an answer among that crowd... but since this is really a holster mark, I elected not to move this message thread to the Navy forum. |
Hi,
If the holster were dutch, I'd expect a little brass unit plate on the holster or marks where it had been fastened if removed. |
Not all Dutch holsters were unit marked (i.e. having a brass plate) particularly those fabricated in Indonesia.

I agree with Tom Heller; this AIN'T German; Swede seems to be what it most resembles.

Thanks for all the opinions - I'm still not sure what the marking is. For your information, this is the holster that the marking is on. It's a Colt Navy and apparently there were a small number of these bougth by the Kriegsmarine. I know this is a bit off topic but, where else am I going to find Imperial Navy marking buffs?
