Luftwaffe Holster
This holster has five days to go on eBay and is already past $300 in bidding. Granted, it appears to be in very nice shape, but what makes it a luftwaffe holster? I must be missing something.

This has been brought up before, most agreed that Luftwaffe were not usually marked differntly. There are rumors (that most collectors believe isn't true) that tan holsters are Luftwaffe and many people believe this, thus jacking the price up.
Aaron, is this the holster you were talking about? Luftwaffe Holster on e--bay On the other hand, it is a nice and brown holster, which is more unusual, esp for a 41 marked holster? Should be black dyed? |
Years ago, I saw a nice brown luftwaffe holster at an auction. It was identified by the E/2 inspection stamp on the holster and it had no other date or maker's markings.
I have one in my collection--it is black and original color. That should put an end to the idea that luftwaffe holsters are brown. Dave |
Yes Ed, that's the holster I'm referring to. Sorry I neglected to include the web link. I certainly agree with LP08 about the E/2 acceptance stamp. The last one I saw also had no marks except this stamp on the inside of the holster, so small that I only found it after my fourth time closely examining the holster. Oh yes, it was also black.
