artillery holster

Yesterday at the Orlando gun show, I picked up a artillery Luger that came with this holster and was wondering if anyone an idea as to the origin of this holster.

Jim, It appears to be professionally made by a U.S. maker, Western, possibly Heiser of Denver. No markings anywhere? Jerry Burney

Jim,
are there some stamps on the holster?
I have a Heiser LP08 holster but it seems quite different.
Ciao

No markings on the holster, It really isn't in that good of shape.

I'm going to give it to my son to play with, but before I did I wanted to check with you guys to make sure it wasn't something that had a lot of value.

thanks,
Jim

Jim, Depending on how old your boy is and your financial standing in the community you might want to reconsider your generosity. Even though you say it is not in the greatest condition it could still bring a respectable sum of $$$. Jerry Burney

I bought a WWI German spiked helmet (pickelhaube) once upon a time. The guy I bought it from had given it to his kids to play with. I saw pictures of it before they started to play with it, and it probably would have been worth $500-$600. By the time I got it, I gave him $25 and was being generous. It had been ruined and I bought it for parts.

Jim, Your holster appear to be American made, I would guess from the 1920s or 30s, and probably for a long barrelled 22 pistol, judging from the mag pouch. Will a luger mag fit in pouch and allow the flap to close? If so, I may have been made for the luger, and therefore justify a higher price. TH
