Removing Mildew Marks

I live the tropics where humidity is a problem. I have a tan Luger holster which was covered in some areas by mildew. After brushing off the mildew, I noticed stains/marks left behind where the mildew grew and I wonder how the marks can be removed? Does anybody know any miracle removal technique?

Thanks,
Albert

An excellent question Albert... The only substances I know of to remove mildew (bleach or some other chlorine based liquid) would certainly ruin a leather holster's finish...

Let's hope someone on the forum has an excellent and proven answer for this problem...

I'd try saddle soap followed with "Hide Food"

At the risk of sounding like a complete dillitante,

I have found that a solution of 25/75 balsamic vinegar and water works well, Spray in on liberally, seal in a Zip lock bag, forgitabboutit for about 2 weeks.

Follow up with 2 weeks exposure to DRY air and then finish with Renaisance wax

Works for me.
