Polished Threads?
On this "minty" holster, do the threads look as if they have seen a bit of the shoe polish? Or is the picture bad?

I dunno Wes, since that's the first blue holster that I've seen, maybe they used blue thread to stitch it with? <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

Wes. I would say there has been little or no polish involved with this piece. Polish tends to leave grains of pigment in the thread. This thread looks clean to me from what I can see. Linen thread tends to age and turn yellow, or brownish. This looks entirely natural to me.At least on the back, I cannot say for sure about the front. I cannot see it closely enough to say for sure. The closure strap looks a little dark as do the rest of the threads in front. If a holster gets any shoe polish or dye it is generally on the front and not the back. Nice holster. Jerry Burney

Hugh, you need that for the blue luger (K something) from last week.

Jerry,
The close-up of the back detail had me questioning whether the larger views were not quality pics. Thanks for your input. |
