Unknown Pistol Holster-OT

Not a Luger holster........but, I dont know what type of gun it is for!!
Got this at a gun show a few years ago. It is made for a VERY small pistol. It is the brown holster and is shown NEXT to a black PPK AKAH holster for size reference. Anyone recognize what pistol this little holster was made to house?
I posted it on the Jan Still Forum also.

Many European Armies once issued .25 Autos for staff officers and others who might not need to use their pistols for "serious social occasions", probably one of these.

Any markings?

Hi Thor,

It appears to be a holster for one of the very popular pre-WW2 'taschenpistolen', there were quite a few companies producing these little pistols.

If you can find traces of overall pistol length in the holster, you can try to find a match amongst some German producers (for example in Ian Hoggs excellent 'German Handguns' book.

Thanks guys, I thought the side leather piece to give it thickness and the rear ring hangers were especially interesting considering the smallness of this holster. Seems like the belt loop would have been sufficent to carry it. Perhaps it is set up for several scenarios of carry.

Ted, Quite the interesting holster...I have looked in all my reference books and can find nothing just kike it. The back is very Japanese in style while the front could be French or German as far as the latch. Might have been a custom made commercial for a Ruby or smaller pistol. Let's just say I don't think it's for a standard Military model. Nicely made though...Jerry Burney

Basic descriptions are the same, are for a .25 cal officer's pistol, these were aquired by the officer by personal purchase
