Artillery Luger holster stock attachment

Can someone with an original Artillery Luger holster rig enlighten me on the following topic please?

I have a 1917 DWM Artillery. I just bought a repro holster from CRM International in England and am very happy with the quality. However, it came without the shoulder strap being correctly laced through the slots in the shoulder board, and I'm not sure how it should be laced. I therefore have 3 questions:
1) How does the strap lace through the 4 slots in the shoulder board?
2) What is the precise correct placement of the top flap for screwing in the 4 screws that hold it to the back of the shoulder board?
3) What is the purpose of the metal wear plate that's rivetted to the shoulder strap, and what is it's correct position vis-a-vis the rest of the rig?
Thanks in advance for any advice or photos someone can provide to help me figure this out.

Welcome Robert,

I have several photographs of complete Artillery Rigs but unfortunately I won't have access to those photos for a couple of weeks.

Without them it for illustration, it would be difficult to describe... Perhaps one of the other artillery owners could elaborate on the information you need.

I have seen the CMR repro rig and it is a great reproduction of the original...

Robert,I've seen various configurations concerning the attachment loops or Shoulder straps passing through the stock-board. Attached is one example but its rather like adding a new shoelace everybody has a preferred method.

Trust the attached illustration may be of some help to you!

Charles,

Where is the attached illustration?

I don't see it...

John,

The only example I have is that of an Iranian Luger Artillery Rig. Although the example does
not demonstrate clearly the method of attachment it should at least provide readers with an idea.

Robert, This simple method of fixing the stock to the holster is very easy. I suspect you have already done it. Put the stock up to the holster and slip the stock block of the holster into the stock slot. With some slack for working, seperate the two pieces a little to be able to thread the shoulder straps. Start on the stock side and slip the shoulder strap end into the bottom slot, thru the stock and into the bottom slot of the holster stock block. Thread it up thru the stock block and back into the top slot of the stock. Take the steel or brass button provided and attach the shoulder straps . After doing this to both sides pull on the straps so that both stock and holster pull up tight together. This will complete the attachment. Good luck! Jerry Burney
