former artillery converted

How old is this conversion?

Looks fairly old, but??

Let me play "Jerry";

hmmm, obvious it is a former artiller, can tell by the front and the rear.

Rear looks like a sewn on job, but when?

Front with a snap, that appears to be post WW2?

ED, I believe this to be a Weimar period conversion up till you get to the back belt loop and the closure snap. The snap is certainly not Weimar period and probably US , Norwegian or NATO. I cannot say for sure about the funky belt loop but it is not common on pre war period pieces. This is a period conversion gotten hold of by the Allies. Jerry Burney

If it was $50, I would be tempted for a fun-holster, but at $95, a bit high...

Will send you a picture when I get home of the two shelves I added to my "wall" that hold holsters (flat, just laying to collect as much dust as they can).
