I need HELP!!!!Whittington book
Hey Guys, I need to find out how many volumes Robert Whittington wrote on German Pistols and holsters.
I know of one, German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945 Is this the one and only? Or are there more titles I don't know about? Many thanks...Jerry Burney |
Hey Jerry, when are you going to get a website to show off all those terrific holsters you make????
|
Jerry, there are two printings of Vol I, a 1969 issue and a 1981 updated issue. There is also a Vol II by the same title. He also wrote a book about the Colt Whitneyville-Walker Pistol. Hope this helps. Check your private mail.

Jerry,
There are actually four volumes. Simpson's carries Vol. II and IV, someone has the first three volumes for sale in the latest Automag (and now that I have said that someone else will snag them before I can afford them...) Volume IV is not really about pistols and holsters as such, it is a detailed translation of how German army units were assigned arms of all types, as well as transportation and other detalis. It is a very strange, and extremely fascinating, book. --Dwight |
Hey Guys , Thanks very much...I will try and track down Vol. 111 as it's about holsters.
Thor, I am not much of a computer hand so probably never. I am building a brown pigskin Navy for a client right now. Looks really nice! I can't really make all that many of these things, it takes me a week to ten days for each and I have to keep up with the regular holster repair in between. Thanks for asking and for all your support my Friend..Jerry Burney |
Jerry, you dont have to be. All you need is excellent photos and someone to help you that is really good at these sites. Seems like a waste not to display your talents.

Jerry,
Here is a source for 2 out of 4 books : http://www.rayrilingarmsbooks.com/cgi-bin/rrb455.cgi Just enter the author's name in the "Search" window... I have purchased many of my books from Larry and they are always "new" or "like new" and shipment is very fast... Regards, Pete... |
