2 parts holsters
Picked up a couple of parts holsters and had a question. Both are dated wwi. One is dyed black and has seen a ton of service. Someone put two inch high SS on the flap which I highly doubt is original to the holster. The one I have a question on is a 1915 dated in very decent condition except the stiching is all out of it so it is flat and it has a hole torn in the bottom where the front sight has torn through. Is it possible to fix the hole, I know the stiching can be repaired, but don't know about the hole. Thanks

Brian, Yes anything can be repaired but would you be happy with it and would it look like the original? Probably not and No. To repair a hole such as a rivet that has been taken out and the one you mention, it is necessary to cut a round plug and glue in another round disc. In a flat area this is generally not too noticeable but it is there. On a rounded surface such as where the sight would rub a hole, it would stand out a bit more. This type of repair is not ideal but in some peoples eyes it is better than a hole
