Am posting some photos of Doc Herb Fisher's recent 1906 Commerical holster buy.

Thanks for posting, Pete. The holster holds a 1906 DWM commercial in the 61000range, BUG proofed with a short frame. It came out of an estate of a firearms collector who had only a few lugers. Many desirable pieces are becoming available now it seems and many of the collectors of the 40's, 50's and even 60's are passing away. Widows seem to have no use for these things. Hope to hear from the usual expert folks, especially Jerry Burney.

Okay, here are this beginner's questions :

The luger pin punch is strawed and appears to be an old strawing job, IMHO.... I did see this rig, in person, before Doc made the buy decision.

Questions : Is a strawed pin punch correct for a Commerical rig ? Are others known to exist ?

John, the pistol in the holster is a DWM commercial 1906 in 96-97% condition with a frosted bore in the 61000 serial range, I recall. It has a short frame and is BUG proofed. I already possess a 98% DWM commercial in the 35000 serial range, BUG proofed, short frame with a mirror bore. The first commercial will be sold seperately, I'll put mine in the holster, wrapped in plastic wrap, of course!

Herb... NEVER store your pistols in the holster... that is asking for trouble.

Holsters are designed to transport not store pistols. They attract moisture, and the use of plastic wrap, since it doesn't breathe, is a good way to trap condensation against your prize pistol.

Keep the holster full of bubble wrap, or a Luger replica to maintain it's shape and condition.
