P08 holster worth fixing up
 

I've had this P08 holster laying in my safe for some time now and I can't even remember where I got it. I don't visit the holster forum very often but I see there is a person named Jerry at "lugerholsterrepair" that does great work repairing these. This one looks worse than it really is and I feel is worth the money to save. It's dated 1941 and marked PO8 and the code is OCX. Is there anything I can put on the leather to help it or just leave it alone?

John, Jerry can fix that so that you would'nt believe it's the same holster. He not only could repair it, but also treat and buff the leather, for you. He's not cheap, but for what he can do, it's worth it. He has fixed several for me. You won't be sorry. As is , it's not worth much. His work will replace, and increase the value.He is in every sense of the word, a craftsman.

Echo what Ron has said. To restore these old pieces of war leather is worth any reasonable price. With Jerry's artistry and skill, I feel it is absolutely worth it. Holsters are increasing in value faster (percentage wise) than Lugers and what better a person to get you there than Jerry Burney?

I bought one from a forum member that had the same problem, Jerry fixed it up so it was impossible to tell it had been done!

In reality, I think Jerry doesn't charge enough, but don't tell him that!

Hello all, for what it's worth, I can't find the OCX Ordnance Code in any of the listings I have, nor can I find it in Benders " Luger Holsters" Book.

This is the best I can do with my cheap camera and Microsoft Photo software. It sure looks like OCX to me even after looking at it through a magnifying glass. Do you see anything in your reference books for a code ending in CX? If you look at the pictures closely do you see anything below the O? It may be just a blimish on the leather...I'm not sure.

John, how about gcx - Ing. Karl Brettschneider, Maehrisch-Schoenberg.

This was located in Bender's Book and my ordnance list!

I agree with Leon and Frank. Looks like gcx to me. The O is too small, looks more like the top loop of a "g".

Leon, I bought a book from Don Hollock produced in 1944 and reprinted in 1977. 775 pages of nothing but three letter codes from aaa to ozz.
