original Luger Holster with gi belt hanger

I have a Original WW2 Luger Holster with a Gi metal belt hanger added to it.Any idea about this practice and when it was done ?

These were done after WW2, I have heard, some by GI's, some by Germans that worked for the US Military after the war, and then Norway had lugers and did this. I am sure other countries also did this modification.

From what you see on e-bay, this drives the collectability way down, most I have seen on e-bay sold for $45-$65.

Collector's Armoury in VA. imported hundreds of these Norwegian conversions years ago. I probably purchased over 50 of these myself, including several Naval marked ones. Most of these have by now had the hangers removed and the rivet holes plugged. Formerly, Frank DeMora (RIP) was the expert in reinstaling belt loops on these and pluging the holes. Now we have our own resident expert. TH
