Annoucing birth of Baby Navy
Thru the combined efforts of Neil Keller, Ted Green, GT & myself, I am the proud poppa of the latest addition to the world of "Baby Lugers": Thor did an outstanding rust blue job on this one. He gets better all the time!

Hugh, all I can say is "Sweet"
Congrats on your new toy!! |
REALLY nice lookin looger Hugh... how long is the barrel? and have you shot it yet? The front sight looks too low to me for the height of the rear sight...
|
Good eye John! What you do is bring the front sight down until you can't see it any more and the target is centered in the rear sight notch and fire away! Just kidding! I am remodeling a front sight to the correct height, but was anxious to post pics on the forum, so put a regular sight on it for picture taking. Yes I have shot it and it shoots great.
The bbl is 4.5 inches long. |
Hugh, Beautiful! Ron

Hugh, Really nice job by some superior craftsman. A real treasure for life! Jerry Burney

SURE WISH IT WERE MINE

That is one lovely piece of machinery. You guys are really putting together some masterpieces. Can't tell for sure from the picture, does it have a Type II safety?
|
Hugh, real neat little gun. Now you need to make a Baby Carbine! :D I assume that it started life as a 1920 commercial?
|
Pretty dang neat Hugh!! Nice work guys! Til..lat'r...GT

Wowowow......
Nice job!!!! I agree with Doug - a baby Carbine would be just the ticket..!!! Best to you! John D. |
Thanks, guys for all the compliments.
Yes Ron that is a type 2 safety, just because I think the checkering, instead of the straight grooves, looks neat! Doug, the poor little thing is actually a bastard, as it doesn't have a legitimate parent. The reciever is a commercial, the frame is a military DWM with the stock lug ground off. The barrel is a new 6" cut back, the toggle train is DWM commercial and the navy rear toggle is an extra I just happened to have laying around not doing anything! In fact, the only two numbers that match are the breech block and middle toggle. A carbine is a long way off, next is a baby artillery and then a baby grip safety. |
Hugh,
A very nice & sweet looking pistol you have there....From the rich bluing, strawed parts.....to the beautifull wood work.....Everything is tops !! Will you shoot it ?? Looks almost too nice to me to be shot....... MARK |
Extremely Nice! What a unique and super well crafted creation. Pride of ownership! Grip work outstanding as well Hugh. (Back to packaging for the move to Oregon now...)

Hi Hugh:
Thor did his usual "better than new" restoration. I can also appreciate your work on the beautiful grips. On a scale of one to ten, I give you a 12 for coming up with the idea to do it in the first place. It's to pretty to shoot! Dan Clemons Escondido, CA |
