Scriptic S
Tom A. mentions a "scriptic S" on a 1934 K date navy. I have seen this S on a luger but I don't know the significance. I figured it was a Simpson. Somebody teach me.

Hi Mark,
Sorry for being so late in replying. The "scriptic" S is actually a capital S in "Fractur", a Germanic script that was taught for many years prior to W/W.II. If you do a search on old forum files, you will find much info on the alphabetic system. There is, how ever, almost nothing known about why Mauser elected to mark parts thusly. Tom A cs/thumbs down |
Thanks Iom
