hi Norm,

Welcome to the forum. Based on what you say, sounds very likely you may have a 1906 Imperial Navy piece issued from the Kiel Naval Arsenal.

Norm,
I almost forgot, your Luger sounds like a 1906 navy. The gwm that you see on the toggle is a highly scripted DWM. There are four different 1906 navy Lugers for that year according to collectors. Three are navy military and one is a commercial. Yours sounds like it is one of the three navy military. The three navy military closely resemble each other with the main visual difference being in the thumb safety. When you take your pictures, make sure that you get a good shot of that safety both with the safety lever up and with it down. That is one of the keys to your Lugers identification. All four of the 1906's are highly sought after by collectors and your pictures will be closely viewed by all of them. Congratulations on your possession.

P.S.
Your name has a good ring to it. <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" />

The smileys are available if you use the "postreply" button rather than the "QuickReply" option. When you post using the "QuickReply" box, you can go back and add smileys to your post by clicking on the pencil and paper icon to edit your post...that brings up all the neat smileys and other options available with the "postreply" button.
