1920 Commercial Navy
 

I think I may have a DWM 1920 Com Navy. It has a 6" bbl , germany stamped on top left side of bbl about .750" from where bbl screws into frame, germany also stamped below SN4922 with the letter script O beneath it below bbl in front of trigger frame. Crown with N under on left side of frame and also on lwft of toggle action. Strong straw, matching last two numbers of SN stamped below/on takedown pin, behind rear 'V' notch sight. Wood bottom mag with no numbers. Gesichert marked safety stamped above lever. Hold open works fine. A real mint clean pistol. Is it a 1920 com navy and if so what $$$ figure can you put on it without pictures? Ballpark $$$.

Sorry for wasting you time reading my last input. I remembered that I had previousely posted the question to all of you on the PO8 commercial forum and received an answer.
BUT the thing that bothers me is the CROWN WITH THE N STAMPED on two places. I was under the impression that those markings were NAVY markings.

Crown N is standard post W.W.II commercial proofing; Crown M is German Imperial Navy proofing.

I think Tom meant to say that the C/N proof is a standard Pre-WW2 commercial proof. The two you describe are very much typical for a 1920's commercial Luger. Earlier commercial Lugers used a "lazy" C/N proof on the left side of the receiver. The receiver proof on your Luger should be a "standing" C/N.
