Leo's Navy Lugers with Unit Markings

Check out this photo of Navy Lugers in the collection of Luger11 (Leo). The photo was too large for Leo to post so he sent it to me to post for him... click on the image to see it full size.

Some people have all the luck! Or at least all the Lugers!!

All,

Leo is a dear personal friend and a member of the "Cabal of 3" who are working very hard to corner all Imperial and Weimar Navy pieces that are extant. So far we ain't doing too badly.

I actively support and assist in this endeavor by an occasional shipment of Jefferson Reserve to fellow cabalists. (Take that, spell checker!)

Leo, as a member of the cabal, gets first dibs on lots of stuff; in return, fellow cabalistas, get first dibs on anything he wishes to move.

CABAL IRON CLAD RULE: You sell the piece to a cabalista for what you paid for it. No equivications, "cost of money" etc, etc. We are collectors and do not wish to make a profit from our hobby.

Naive? Perhaps, but the cabal will be doing the keynote at Chattanooga this year with a real "petting zoo" of navies that we own ourselves.

We will display and allow hands on for almost every Navy made, from 1904 through the Commerative by Mauser. Additionally, we will have accessories and accoutrements as well as documentation.

We in the Cabal work hard and spend a few bucks to preserve history; hope you enjoy it.

Mr. Armstrong,

I hope you are talking about the NAPCA show in Chattanoogi next year because if you are I will be there to drool over them loogers. From your interpretive writing I was not sur exactly if that was what you were talking about or not but I hope you were talking about what I thought you were talking about because if you were that is a good thing and good things are hard to find these days. I could go on, but all kidding aside I do hope your are in Chatt. for the show.

Season's Greeting and Happy Holidays,
I think this is politically correct.

Navy 12-22-2003 11:08 PM

Mr. Toggle Top,
If I understanded what you be sayin', to wit:

"I was not sur exactly if that was what you were talking about or not but I hope you were talking about what I thought you were talking about because if you were that is a good thing"

Den' we are in complete aggreasesement.

And yes, you can see and touch the stuff that the Cabal has found in Chattanooger. If you got any of that evil, wicked and nasty Kaiser Bill stuff or, ptooie,(italics assumed) I spit at the name, any of that stuff from Herr Schickelgruber's time, well, if it is Navy, I am interested. You got it for sale, I am interested. If I don't like it, a Cabalista probably will.

I have heard that this is a "Must go to event"--does anyone know the dates and place?
Happy Holidays to all-its been a fun first year for me in the Luger Forum! Thanks to everyone for their coments.

Never mind-I found my answer after a little more finger tapping.

Now I know where all the Navys are..

Fantastic! But I have a question:

The "I.S.B." - Marking looks a little big in my eyes.. is it a 1904, a 1906 or a 1916/17 variant?
Shouldn`t it has a number under the "I.S.B."?

luger11 12-29-2003 08:36 PM

Hi and thanks for your interest. In answer to your question The I.S.B. mark is proper and not all guns that were unit marked were issued a property number. technically it is a 1904 but in collector terms it is classified as an 1906.And to your statement now you know where "all" the Navys are you are incorrect this is seven of the 20 navys I own and between T.A, D.S and myself we have over 60 navys in our combined collection.

thank you for your answer. I am really looking forward to see more pics like the one here in this thread.

Congrats!!!

Karmast,

Spend a load of Euros and come to Chattanooger this summer and you can see and fondle Navy Loogers as well as all of their accessories and ancillary equipment, such as M1911 Boarding Cutlasses.

@Tom A: Thank you very much, that really sounds great, though it will not happen this year due to private reasons..
but I would really enjoy the visit there. It must be a great experience!! Maybe it will be better next year? is it a meeting once in the year?

Navy 01-01-2004 07:58 PM
