Reworked 1917/20 naval (?) P08 picture.

Thank you Edward for the tutorial, lets hope that this works.

Not the best of pictures Im afraid, I have only had this camera for 3 days so I am still reading the manual! http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/luger1329.jpg

Max, I agree that this gun appears to have been "reworked" since the two examples of "1329" that you show in the photo above are not in the same letter font.

Welcome to the Lugerforum!

Max, you are doing well with your camera! I just wonder about this Navy, that surely got the royal treatement of many in 1920:
- One of the original 3 navy proof is still visable. Are the other two grinded away to make place for the extra SN? Can you see old marks?
- Is the navy proofmark next to the first axle of the toggle still present?
- Is to your opinion the old barrel shortened, or did they replace it with a 4" new one?

Just curious...

Thank you for your answers Gentlemen.

Mr Sabato; Thank you for wishing me welcome, I was realy happy when I found this forum. As I said before Im a total novise to P08`s and know that you "vets" can give me the info Im after. The letter font are definitivly diffrent on one of the stamps.

Jamka; Glad that you liked the pictures, I can only get better:-) Yes there are clear signs of grinding. The proofmark next to the first axle of the toggle are intact.
The barrel are definitive a replacement.

What can a gun like this be worth! Are they rare?

And yet another question; when was these pistols reworked?

Max Mauser 07-12-2004 08:08 PM
