K date Navy is this the real deal?

Don't know much about Navies, but I think they are a little overpriced? Or maybe not?
Opinions...............

"K" Date NAVY

P.08, Who am I to judge but the guy starts out with 10 grand and the reserve is not met...The finish in some of the photo's looks like an East German rework, some look OK. Yes it's a rare pistol but that leaves quite a few questions for the serious collector. Many are not answered by the few bad photo's. I guess a guy can ask whatever he wants...Jerry Burney

This may be somewhat rare, but I don't think he will have many bidders with a $10K starting price...

That gun should bring about $8500-9000 based on condition shown in pix. These are very, very hard to find.

Hi,
$10,000 is way too much for this piece in my opinion in this condition. If it was the best one known that would be another story. I think $7500 is pretty much top end for these in excellent condition and less depending on the condition. $5500 to $7500 would be more realistic in my opinion, but as stated before, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There has to be a point where no one will pay these inflated prices.

All,
In deference to my esteemed friend Bill,a Luger expert who is far more knowledgable than me,
K-Date Navy pistols tend to change hands "under the radar" of the day to day Luger market. Most of the sales of these guns are accomplished between private parties with a phone call or e-mail.

Seldom do such pieces surface on the open market unless someone dies and the estate does not know what it has. These pieces, when they appear on the market, should have very careful scrutiny, and if legit, someone needs to be on it like white on rice.
