Where to find a Shooter Luger?

Where is the best place to find a "shooter" luger. I'd like to start off small.. And matching numbers aren't necessary, I dont mind some wear on the bluing, But I'd like it to be functional, and have an excellent bore. Is there anywhere I could find something like this?

What Price range would a Luger like this go for?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

The gun shows here in Portland, Oregon usually have some Lugers. I found a matching American Eagle in .30 cal with poor blueing for $600 and a very mismatched Artillery for a bit more. I have seen some standard 9mm with 4" barrels for less (in the $400 range). Other people seem to find ones for less but so far I ave not. Just start looking wherever used guns are for sale.

CETME, going price around $500 these days from what I have seen, you might find a good deal at a gun show, but it might take a while too. See the Links and resources section of this forum at http://www.lugerforum.com/lugerlink.html
Ralph Shattuck, Simpsons LTD, Check point Charlies, Bob Adams Guns are a few good places to start.

Hello Lars,

I noticed you are Luger Forum member # 106...you must have absolute, steel-like, self-control. How have you been able to read/lurk on the Forum all this time and not have purchased a luger by now ?

My first luger was a NIB Mauser-Interarms luger that was made in the 1970's, purcahsed from Luger Forum member Tom Heller.

I wanted a luger but wanted a "new" gun that had no parts wear so I would not need to worry about replacement parts...

Mine was a 9 mm, swiss-style, with 6" bbl. Photo is shown below. Cost was $ 825.00. That was 16 lugers ago (in about 1 year...)...watch out, your 1st. one will not be your last...

p.s. I had Luger Forum member, Hugh Clark, redo the factory grips to what you see here...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
