Grips
I have a 1914/1920 Erfurt double date Luger
with all matching numbers except for the barrel which is a Mauser s/42 replacement. The magazine is the aluminum base but with matching number. The grips are brown plastic, checkered, but without the "bullseye" as with the VOPO grips. There are no numbers or marks on the inside of the grips and they are in excellent condition. Can anyone give me more onfo on them? Thanks,RJ |
Pioneer, I have seen some brown fully checkered plastic grips, which are recent Soviet arsenal replacements. If the grips have uncheckered borders around the checkering, they maybe original Kreighoff or copies. None of these would be original issue for a PO8 made in 1914, which should have checkered wood grips. Tom H.

Thanks Rick. I took a look at your post under
Kreighoffs. My grips are a dead ringer for the ones you show in your post. What dates were these grips produced, and what makes them so valuable? Another question. My Luger has a notch just above the 1920 date and between the barrel. I have not seen this on other Lugers that I have looked at. If I could figure out how to send pictuers, I would. Thanks again, Ron |
