Best ammo for reliable luger shooting

I am new here so I dont know if this question has been covered before, but what ammunition do you use in your luger for relaible use?

I have been told the more powerfull loads are better for cycling lugers, but not to use +P because it will be a little too much power for such a old gun and would eventually cause premature wear.

Howdy! The ammo of choice seems to be the Sellier and Belloit(SP?) This is of Check(SP?) manufacture and is of MOST EXCELLENT quality. I have large quantities of same(or had, I have fired a lot ot it) and shoot it in all my 9's. Mike PS 115 gr FMJ

I use 1964 Finnish fmj, 124g, berdan primed. Depends a lot on the condition of gun and strength of the mainspring. Lots of folks like the Walmart Winchester 115g, I like a heavier slower bullet.

I second Riffraff on the S&B 115gr FMJ. Works perfectly in my 1906-pattern Dutch luger.

(and it's actually cheaper over here in Europe than Winchester...)

The "white box" Winchester 115 gr at Wallmart. They also have it in a 124 flat point conical shaped bullet that works great in my Lugers.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

As another newcomer, I'm just wondering, is there anything wrong with Wolf ammo? It is the least expensive around here, and seems to shoot okay to me. Since nobody else mentioned it I just thought I would ask if there are reasons not to use it.
Thanks
Ken

Ken,

I have heard of cases getting stuck in the chamber and saw one in someone elses gun. Also, if you use The Place to Shoot out by Janzen Beach, they do not allow Wolf on the range.
