Kaiserslautern marking

I just recently bought my first luger out of an estate sale. I have been trying to research the markings, and have identified most on the gun. However, there is a marking on the top of the barrel that reads "Waffen Dinger Kaiserslautern". I haven't been able to determine what this means. Any help educating me would be greatly appreciated. It is dated 1938, and has only a "42" on top.
I'll try to post a few pictures for you all to further educate me on what I have exactly.
By the way, this is an excellent forum you guys have developed!

R.J.,

Please be sure to photograph or report any other markings on the barrel, on the bottom of the barrel particularly, and on both sides near the breech as well.

Sounds like one that was bought through a US Army Rod & Gun Club post WWII.

Hello R.J.

"Waffen Dinger Kaiserslautern" could be a gunsmith named DINGER in the city of Kaiserslautern in southwest Germany.
regards
Peter
