Kaiserslautern marking
I just recently bought my first luger out of an estate sale. I have been trying to research the markings, and have identified most on the gun. However, there is a marking on the top of the barrel that reads "Waffen Dinger Kaiserslautern". I haven't been able to determine what this means. Any help educating me would be greatly appreciated. It is dated 1938, and has only a "42" on top.
I'll try to post a few pictures for you all to further educate me on what I have exactly. By the way, this is an excellent forum you guys have developed! |
R.J.,
Please be sure to photograph or report any other markings on the barrel, on the bottom of the barrel particularly, and on both sides near the breech as well. --Dwight |
Sounds like one that was bought through a US Army Rod & Gun Club post WWII.

Hello R.J.
"Waffen Dinger Kaiserslautern" could be a gunsmith named DINGER in the city of Kaiserslautern in southwest Germany. regards Peter |
