Razor,
If the gun has any numbered parts that don't match or if it has been reblued or refinished it is a shooter, hard core collectors won't want it. Also, if the condition is poor (rust, worn bluing, damage, etc.) it isn't even of much collector interest. Finally, any faked details such as proofs, numbers, etc. degrade a Luger's collector value significantly. Owners who are shooters, however (me included), want an accurate gun with a good trigger pull and barrel condition, reliability and appearance are important and tasteful alterations are perfectly acceptable. |
Agreed AGE,
Also Razor, take a look at the left (provided you came into www.lugerforum.com ) and there is a FAQ that has great information on this very subject. it is right here: http://www.lugerforum.com/FAQ.html |
Thanks for the info. It is very helpfull.
