I see in the 2004 Gun Digest, that the Mitchell Mauser, the people who are selling refurbished Lugers, is the latest incarnation of the Mitchell company we know for the stainless steel Luger... Mitchell Mauser

Are you saying that Orimar is now Mitchell Mauser?

No, Mitchell distributed the stainless steel Lugers when they first showed up. The manufacturer has had several names AIMCO, SPM, and Orimar. The distributors have been Mitchell, Stoeger, and the manufacturer. Fun!!!

Hello guys,
please can you clarify me the relationship between these refurbished Lugers and the Mauser firm. Actually these Lugers are not related at all with Commemorative Mauser models. Mauser stop the production and sold all tools for building Luger.
Please let me know.

As far As the spare parts concerns, both Haslberger and Waffen Veh (both German Gunsmiths) bought the remaining parabellum and related spare parts still available in the Mauser facilities located in Oberndolf.
Of course it is possible to find Parabellum spare parts to other sellers, as example the Mauser Official Importer in Italy has still available spare parts.

As far as Mr. Heller concerns I guess he bought Interarms spare parts, in other words the spare parts available in the USA official Mauser Parabellum importer not the Mauser spare parts in Oberndorf.

I hope this can clarify the last activities performed by Mauser before and just after stopping his activities in the hunting and sporting weapons field.

I guess it should be very difficult that SIG-Blaser Markenvertriebs GmbH starts again the production of Parabellum. As you know the actual cost for producing this pistol are very high; it means a big investment.
We will see.

Mauro, you're right. The 2004 Mitchell Mausers shown are refurbished originals and have nothing to do with the post-war mausers or post-war US produced aimco/mitchell/orimar guns.

What it is important to higlight is the fact that Mitchell uses the name Mauser. I guess that in order to use the Mauser name for businnes purposes it is necessary to have the permission from Mauser itself. I don't know what kind of relationships there are between Mitchell and Mauser-Werke Oberndorf Waffensysteme GmbH.

I have never heard of any official relationship between Mitchell and the Mauser factory.

He calls his company Mitchell's Mausers because the owner's name is Mitchell and he sells products that were originally manufactured by Mauser. I don't know what the legalities are concerning using the name Mauser, but I believe that the name of his company is perfectly legal.

Just like someone named Baudino selling old Mercedes-Benz automobiles could probably call his company Baudino's Mercedes... :D

it is not my purpose to figure out if Mitchell can or cannot use the name Mauser. My only purpose is to clarify to the new Luger Forum members that there is any relationship between Mitchell and the Post WWII Mauser production in particular the commemorative.
By the way I have a Mercedes and so it is a "Baudino's Mercedes" :-)
