luger in cal.45 ???

Shouldn't there now be a new luger in cal. 45 produced in USA for 1.200,-$??? We talked about that 1 or 2 years ago. Maybe Stoeger??? (Not that expensive one from Krausewerk) Does anyone know more???

Edward Tinker 02-12-2003 07:31 AM

Dieter, you are thinking of the Mitchell (AIMCO) one I believe, rumors were just as you stated. They say, sometime this year I think is what someone said, but I wouldn't hold your breath till it comes out... And I want one too...

:)

In an e-mail of July 7, 2002 Mr. Romo of AIMCO said that the goal is to have a .45 in production in the first half of 2004 and they appear to be on schedule. He did not give a price estimate but about a year ago estimated between $900.00 and $1300.00. I personally would look for the higher end if not slightly higher but that is just my personal opinion and not based on anything from the company. We will just have to wait and see.

Johnny C. Kitchens 02-12-2003 08:08 PM

That would be July 7, 2002, right???

Steve Richards 02-13-2003 04:14 PM

You are correct! I changed the date in the post so it is now correct.

If AIMCO sticks to their plans, there should be a prototype at the SHOT show. If anyone goes and sees it, please let the rest of us know what you think.

How do we find out what AIMCO currently manufactures, what the prices are, where to buy, etc.? I think I sent off an e-mail to AIMCO some time ago biut never received a reply.

John Jett 02-27-2003 05:37 PM

The computer that I am using(public library)is taking forever to load this forum so at the moment I am not going to go over to check my saved e-mail but I asked AIMCO and I think the reply was $695.00 for 4" and $725.00 for 6" plus $30.00 shipping to your FFL for transfer. Hope this helps.

Wow! at those prices for a 45 Luger, they are going to be like .32 Seecamps were for several years--two years behind in orders! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

O Yes

John Jett 06-22-2003 01:07 AM

This reply is long after the last post in this string however, the post just before my above reply asked about current AIMCO production. So, the prices I got and gave were for 9mm P08s.

I can't get to this site very often because I have no computer at home, so the only computer I can use(other than this rare time when I am out of town at my cousin's house) to get online is at my local public library, and of the 8 machines there only 1 allows me to sign on to this site and rarely is that 1 machine available for me to use. (F.Everybodies I. only) (If you even care)

Regards.

FYI,

What was once called AIMCO is now renamed to:

Orimar Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. - R.E. Romo, 915 Boundary, Houston, Texas 77009 Tel: (713) 617-0474 Fax: (same number)
Reproduction Stainless Steel Lugers (Former producer of Mitchell, Stoeger and AIMCO Stainless Steel Lugers)

...The email link is on our Links & Resources Page.

Bushrod 08-29-2003 06:47 PM

What handgunner would not want a .45 Luger-in stainless no less? And for a price the wife could approve(if presented carefully). For those of you who are familiar with Aimco/Orimar's background/reputation, can they do it-within the next year? My gun fund is accumulating, but I keep getting tempted. Should I hold out til 2004?

Edward Tinker 08-29-2003 07:24 PM

Up in the air from what we all last heard.

Yes, this would be one I would spring very quickly to aquire also, :)

I am holding my breath for a Luger machined out of forgings. Maybe somebody can talk Les Baer into programming his CCM equipment for a limited run of .45 Luger American Eagle replicas.

Johnny C. Kitchens 08-30-2003 10:36 PM

Why didn't you buy one of the last ones to come along made of forgings???
