Prototype

Help?
I was reading Charles Kenyon's book Lugers at Random, and Later while cleaning one of my LugersI discovered that acording to his book I had a(or the)prototype simson&co luger and I was wondering If anyone could help me place a value on this one? I've been collecting Lugers and Mausers for fifty years and I have a few very rare weapons, but never a prototype.
Any help would be welcome.

Thanks Much Ron Welch

Definitely need markings and other details here, photographs I think are necessary in this case. What page of Kenyon are you referring to?

Not doubting at all, but whats makes you think it is a prototype?

It matches the one in Kenyon's book?

Is this the Luger that we witnessed auctioned a few months back that had a serial number #1? I think that was a Simson if my memory serves me... The consensus after viewing the photographs was that the serial number was of questionable origin.

What is the number on yours?
